Cabins are simple and comfortable, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the wilderness and still get a good night’s sleep:
- 1 queen bed, 2 twins (bunk style)
- Dining table
- Propane fireplace
- Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, toaster oven
- Basic dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs, pot, pan
- Bedding, towels
- Private outdoor toilet with heat and lights, emptied between every guest to stay relatively low-odor
- Outdoor fire pit
- Showers and flushing toilets available a short walk away in the lodge
- Several miles of private hiking trails
- Private sandy beach on Lake Superior

There is a $50 fee to keep a pet in one of our cabins.
Shalom Cabin

After a lovely fifteen-minute walk through a beautiful forest, you’ll find yourself at this enchanting seasonal village. With real beds in sturdy canvas tents built up on wooden platforms, you get the unique opportunity to fall asleep listening the waves on Lake Superior, while being comfortably protected from the bugs, wind, and rain. It’s the perfect blend of camping and comfort!
There are 5 tent-cabins at our seasonal retreat facility (Adizokan Village). You can rent them each individually, or you can reserve the entire village. Tent-cabins are available for rental June through September.
Each tent-cabin features:
- 6 twin-sized beds
- Private, low-odor outhouse
Available communally at Adizokan Village:
- An animal-proof food locker
- A cooking fire ring with an adjustable grate
- A picnic pavilion with picnic tables
- A campfire ring with benches
- Handcarts are available at basecamp (near the lodge) to help you bring your luggage, food, and water out to Adizokan Village.
- Canoes are available to rent after a brief safety orientation with a staff person.
Please note:
- There is no electricity at Adizokan Village. Please bring your own lanterns, headlamps, or flashlights if you want to be able to see after dark.
- There is no running water at Adizokan Village. Bring your own water jug(s) for drinking and dishwashing. Potable water is available from basecamp, and we have handcarts available to help you transport it to the village. You may also choose to fill your water jugs at Lake Superior, although we’d recommend treating Lake Superior water prior to drinking it.
- There is no WiFi at Adizokan Village. Cellular service is generally decent, depending on your provider. Please plan ahead.
Rates
Rental Fee: $55-75/night for each tent-cabin. Reserve the entire village for a private event for $375/night.

Backcountry-Style Campsites (Alder & Balsam)

After an easy hike through a beautiful forest, you’ll find yourself at your new favorite backcounty campsite. Our campsites are the perfect blend of easy enough to get to, while still being far enough away. While you’re here you’ll have access to several miles of hiking trails, an enormous sandy beach on Lake Superior, and the Amnicon River.
The Alder Campsite is located off the Beaver Trail, about a quarter miles past Adizokan Village (3/4 mile from basecamp). The Balsam Campsite is located off of the Lake Trail, just beyond the fork from the Beaver Trail (about half a mile from basecamp).
Each campsite features:
- Picnic Table
- Firepit with cooking grate
- Space for 1 or 2 tents
Available from basecamp:
- Hot showers and flushing toilets in the Lodge
- Running water for filling water jugs (bring your own jug).
- Handcarts are available at basecamp (near the lodge) to help you bring your gear, food, and water out to your campsite.
- Canoes are available to rent after a brief safety orientation with a staff person.
Please note:
- There is no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns, headlamps, or flashlights if you want to be able to see after dark.

- A communal, indoor gathering room with couches and a fireplace
- Charcoal grill, tea kettle, coffee maker, microwave, fridge/freezer
